Remington 597 high capacity magazines
At last......we have these in stock! Eagle 30 round plastic mags with last shot hold open facility. We have tried a few and they are looking good, particularly with higher velocity ammo. One tip....if a loaded mag is inserted with the bolt locked back and the bolt handle released, the first round is reluctant to feed. However, if the bolt is in the forward position and the mag inserted the first round feeds just fine when the handle is manually cycled. We realised this when we spent an hour shooting steel plates the other evening. This of course was purely in the interest of consumer research......we didn't enjoy it at all!! Price £22.00
Marlin firing pins
The two piece factory design is prone to breakage, but we have one piece stainless steel replacements in stock at £20.00 which is barely more than the cost of replacing the factory parts! This fits the pistol calibre Marlins but not the rimfire ones.
Wild Dog stocks
We have now be dealing with this company in Australia for around nine months, and we are very impressed with them. Not only are their stocks extremely well made, but they have been very receptive to our suggestions. We hope to bring you news in the future of one or two very innovative products which they are looking at right now. Meanwhile, our first delivery of their new Remington 700 thumbhole tactical stocks should be here soon. We believe this is a first class design which will appeal to many shooters.
You may be aware that we already stock a CZ Varmint stock for the .17HMR rifle but this doesn't of course fit the .22LR version. However, Don and Steve have responded to our request for a .22LR version, and these are now available from us at £290 each.
NEW 10/22 STOCKS AND HI CAPACITY MAGS!
The top two photos show the Tapco polymer stock with adjustable AR-15 style buttstock. A neat little trick is the inclusion with the stock kit of two buttstocks.....one angled for use with iron sights, and the other a straight one for use with optical sights. The lower photo shows the Christie stock which features picatinny rails on the sides and underneath the stock, together with a buttstock which is adjustable for length of pull. The optional fore grip is included as well. The high capacity mags shown with the Tapco stock are from Tactical Innovations. They hold 25 rounds but the really clever thing about them is that they are adjustable in several ways to extract the maximum reliability from a high cap mag. We have already fired a couple of hundred rounds through one of these mags in one of our custom 10/22's with a Volquartsen carbon fibre barrel! Traditionally we have always advised customers using ANY aftermarket barrel to avoid high cap mags, but these ones look good! One interesting finding however......the TI mags work even better in conjunction with our Match barrels when the EDM extractor we normall use is replaced with a standard factory one! Unfortunately we have sold all our previous shipment, but hopefully more will be with us soon..........
